Ending her sabbatical, in an Instagram post, the actress stated that she will be seen alongside Abhimanyu Dassani and Shirley Setia in 'Nikamma'. Shetty's last stint in Bollywood was 'Apne', that starred the Deol brothers.

Sharing the news of her return with the audience and other celebrities, the actress stated that the full and final cast is yet to be decided and that she is extremely excited for the venture. Speaking about her role in the film to an entertainment portal, Shilpa said that it is a role that she has never attempted before and she can't wait for the audience to see her new 'avatar'.
